Board of Appeals and Adjustments
The Board of Appeals and Adjustments has the power and duty to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged there is error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the Zoning Administrator in the enforcement of the City Code; to hear and decide only such conditional uses as the Board of Appeals and Adjustments is specifically authorized to pass on by the terms of the City Code; and to authorize, upon appeal in specific cases, such variance from the terms of the Zoning Code as will not be contrary to the public interest where, owing to special conditions, a literal interpretation and enforcement of the provisions of the Code would result in unnecessary hardship.
The Board of Appeals meets on an as-needed basis. There are five members on the Board. Members serve three year terms. Regular meeting dates are subject to change due to holidays, special circumstances, and/or elections. If unsure about a meeting date or time, please contact the City Administrator’s office.
